In this post tips and review of Monaco - Juventus. First leg ended 1-0 thanks to a decisive penalty scored by Vidal.
MONACO - JUVENTUS
Juventus, as predicted here on GamblersOnly, won 1-0 the first leg in Turin.
A good result for italian team because they didn't concede a goal in their stadium and mainly because Monaco deserved a goal.
Monaco has a clear UNDER 2.5 tendency
Monaco has collected 39 UNDER 2.5 in 50 matches played during this season.
In Champions League 8/9 UNDER 2.5, the only OVER 2.5 was against Arsenal in the first legs of the last 16 stage (1-3).
During the group stage Monaco has scored 4 goals conceding only 1.
Monaco line ups
Usually Jardim prefers a 4-3-3 which becomes a sort of 4-4-2 while defending because central midfielders tend to place in front of the defense, while the 2 wingers move back to help the lateral backs.
We expect the same approach Monaco had in the first leg waiting Juventus and trying to hit counterattacking.
Monaco had a lot of possibilities to score in Turin and we think they will score at least 1 goal tonight, especially with Berbatov back in the center of the attack.
Juventus line ups
Here on GamblersOnly we have already talked about the difference performances Juventus show when alternates the two schemes: 3-5-2 and 4-3-1-2. When playing with 3-5-2 Juventus scores much less but at the same time doesn't concede a lot, while when playing with 4-3-1-2 the total of both goals scored and conceded increases.
Allegri prefers 4-3-1-2 but using this scheme could be dangerous tonight. Juventus plays with a very high baricenter useful to break up closed defenses but the problems come when they lose ball possession giving the possibility to the opponents to attack the empty spaces and being hit with counterattacks. This could be the key of the match.
MONACO: Subašić; Raggi, Fabinho, Abdennour, Kurzawa; Moutinho, Bernardo Silva, Kondogbia; Dirar, Martial, Berbatov.
JUVENTUS: Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini,
