34th and last round of Bundesliga. In this post tips and review of Saturday matches.
BAYERN MUNCHEN - MAINZ
For the first time in his career, Pep Guardiola has lost 3 matches in a row in a national league.
This time Bayern should cheers his supporters with a win.
The opponent is Mainz which does not have particular motivations to make points.
Guardiola wants to avoid another bad impression and will put in the pitch the best lineups available.
We expect a home win by a landslide.
BAYERN MUNCHEN: Neuer, Rafinha, Benatia, J. Boateng, Juan
Bernat, B. Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Thiago, T. Müller, Lewandowski, M. Götze.
MAINZ: Karius, Brosinski, Bell, Noveski, J.-H. Park, Geis, Baumgartlinger, Koo, Jairo, Malli, Okazaki.
HOFFENHEIM - HERTHA BERLIN
Hertha has almost conquered the safety. Depending on the results of the other teams involved in the relegation fight, it could avoid the 3rd to last position even with a defeat.
The only way Hertha has to end this season in the 3rd to last position is losing vs Hoffenheim with a gap of 2 goals and a concomitant Stuttgart win and a draw in Hannover-Freiburg.
Anyway to avoid unuseful risks Hertha will try to obtain at least 1 point to have the arithmetical security.
Hoffenheim has nothing more to ask to the Bundesliga since the 7th place is out of reach.
HOFFENHEIM: Baumann, Beck, Strobl, Bicakcic, J.-S. Kim,
Rudy, Schwegler, Polanski, Roberto Firmino, Szalai, Volland.
HERTHA BERLIN: Kraft, Pekarik, Heitinga, S. Langkamp, Plattenhardt, Skjelbred, Lustenberger, Beerens, Stocker, Haraguchi, Kalou.
HAMBURGER - SCHALKE 04
Schalke will surely take part to the next Europa League.
Hamburger is totally involved in the fight to avoid the relegation (it would be the first in its history).
The problem is that a win could not be enough: the only condition they have to play the playoff against the 3rd team of Zweite Liga is that Stuttgart doesn't win and that Hannover - Freiburg does not end with a draw.
Anyway Hamburger players will give everything and considering the bad shape showed by Schalke in the last month, the sign 1 is very likely.
HAMBURGER: Adler, Diekmeier, Djourou, Westermann,
Ostrzolek, Kacar, Jiracek, Stieber, Jansen, Lasogga, Olic.
SCHALKE 04: Fährmann, Barnetta, Matip, Nastasic, Aogo, Höger, Neustädter, Farfan, M. Meyer, Choupo-Moting, Huntelaar.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND - WERDER BREMEN
Borussia Dortmund has played a great second part of the Bundesliga, moving from the relegation zone till the 7th place which means Europa League in the next season.
Both teams have the same amount of points but thanks to a better goals difference, home team would keep the 7th place also in case of a draw.
Home team also has another way to reach the Europe by winning the DFB Pokal.
Werder has only one result available to get the access to the european qualification: a win and for that reason will play very offensive.
We expect lots of goals here.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND: Weidenfeller, Durm, Sokratis, Hummels,
Schmelzer, Kehl, Gündogan, H. Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus, Aubameyang.
WERDER BREMEN: Casteels, Gebre Selassie, Prödl, Vestergaard, Sternberg, Bargfrede, Öztunali, Bartels, Junuzovic, di Santo, Selke.
PADERBORN - STUTTGART
Paderborn really has few chances to stay in the Bundesliga. In order to play the playoffs they should win against Stuttgart and at the same time hope in a missed win by Hamburger.
Stuttgart, instead, is master of its own destiny: in case of a win it will be safe.
A draw would really be unuseful for both teams, and also here we expect a match where goals should not be missing.
PADERBORN: L. Kruse, Heinloth, Strohdiek, Hünemeier,
Hartherz, Koc, Bakalorz, Vrancic, Stoppelkamp, Rupp, Lakic.
STUTTGART: Ulreich, Schwaab, Baumgartl, Rüdiger, Klein, Serey Dié, Gentner, Harnik, Didavi, Kostic, Ginczek.
