In this post betting tips and match preview of Chile-Mexico, which ends the second round of the Group A.
CHILE - MEXICO
Chile is surely favourite in this match against Mexico.
First of all they are playing home, they have a good team (probably the best chilean squad ever) and Mexico is not the "real" Mexico since coach Herrera hasn't called the best players in order to have them ready for the Gold Cup which will be played on July.
As seen in the first match, Chile plays a very offensive football.
There is not a fixed gamestyle. Generally speaking all players tend to press a lot, defensive line is very high and verticalization is really frequent, avoiding horizontal passes and unuseful ball possession.
Mexico will adopt a 3-5-2 and the risk for them is to stay on the defensive against Chile, because paying attention to chilean midfielders insertions for 90' minutes is really hard and Rafa Marquez (the more experienced defender) is not available.
In our opinion it would be much better for Mexico to adopt a 4 men defense in line ready to face chilean attackers towards the penalty area (as showed by Ecuador in the first match).
Mexico could take advantage of the mediocre chilean defensive phase and hit counterattacking (as showed in the last World Cup), but in the end we expect Chile to win.
We also like Sanchez to score anytime (in the first match Alexis was the man who tried most shoot attempts and this 4-3-3 favourites his characteristics).
CHILE: Claudio Bravo; Mauricio Isla, Gary Medel, Gonzalo Jara, Eugenio Mena; Marcelo Díaz, Charles Aránguiz, Arturo Vidal; Alexis Sánchez, Jorge Valdivia, Eduardo Vargas.
MEXICO: Jesús Corona, Hugo Ayala, Carlos Salcedo, Julio Domínguez, Adrián Aldrete; Jesús Manuel Corona, Gerardo Flores, Javier Güemez, Juan Carlos Medina; Matías Vuoso, Eduardo Herrera.
