In this post betting tips and previews of the first legs of Champions League 3rd round qualifiers:
Apoel-Midtjylland, Molde-Dinamo Zagreb, Ajax-Rapid Wien, Monaco-Young Boys, Basel-Lech Poznan, Malmo-Salzburg and Partizan Beograd-Steaua Bucuresti.
APOEL NICOSIA - MIDTJYLLAND
Apoel won the first leg and is favourite to reach the final stage of the Champions League qualifiers.
Midtjylland payed the international inexperience in the first match, while Apoel played a perfect match, paying a lot of attention to the defensive phase and hitting with fast counterattacks.
We expect to see Apoel staying on the defensive this evening and trying to score counterattacking, since danish team showed lacks in creating goal occasions. Danish team is really good in dead ball situations.
Considering the loss in the first leg, Midtjylland has to play very offensive and also tonight we expect OVER 2.5.
APOEL NICOSIA: Waterman, Carlão, Iñaki Astiz, Mário Sérgio, Alexandrou, Makridis, Vinicius, Nuno Morais, De Vincenti, Leal, Vander.
MIDTJYLLAND: Dahlin, Hansen, Sviatchenko, Lauridsen, Rømer, Sparv, Poulsen, Royer, Olsson, Sisto, Pušić.
OVER 2.5 (2.35, 10Bet)
MOLDE - DINAMO ZAGREB
Tough away match for Dinamo Zagreb. Molde is very competitive when playin in its stadium but generally speaking croatian team has something more in terms of skills.
Actually Molde has played very bad till now: it occupies the 7th position in the national league. The forwarder Gulbrandsen is still unavailable.
Considering the 1-1 in the first leg, Molde would reach the qualification also with a 0-0 and for this reason we expect a to see home team with a defensive approach.
In our opinion Dinamo Zagreb is favourite because of its higher international experience and the skills among its players.
MOLDE: Horvath, Linnes, Toivio, Forren, Rindarov, Singh, Hussain, Hestad, Elyounoussi, Mostrom, Kamara.
DINAMO ZAGREB: Eduardo, Pinto, Taravel, Sigali, Pivarić, Ademi, Antolić, Pjaca, Rog, Soudani, Henriquez.
DINAMO DOUBLE CHANCE (1.44, Sporting Bet)
OVER 1.5 (2.20, Sporting Bet)
AJAX - RAPID WIEN
Ajax showed to be more skilled than Rapid in the first leg. Considering that dutch team usually has an awful trend when playing away international matches, we expect to see the home win tonight after the 2-2 draw in the first match.
AJAX: Cillessen, van Rhijn, Veltman, Viergever, Dijks, Gudelj, Bazoer, El Ghazi, Schone, Fischer, Milik.
RAPID WIEN: Novota, Auer, Dibon, Sonnleitner, Stangl, Grahovac, Petsos, Schobesberger, Schaub, Kainz, Beric.
HOME WIN (1.95, Betfair)
OVER 2.5 (1.75, Betfair)
MONACO - YOUNG BOYS
Monaco secured the qualification after the 1-3 win in the first leg.
Actually Young Boys played very good in the first half and they did also hit a crossbar.
Monaco was lucky to avoid conceding a goal in the first half and dominated the second, scoring 3 goals with only 4 shoot attempts.
Young Boys is forced to play super offensive but in our opinion the qualification is already in Monaco's hands.
MONACO: Subasic, Fabinho, Kurzawa, Raggi, Abdennour, Moutinho, Toulalan, Pasalic, Dirar, Martial, Cavaleiro.
YOUNG BOYS: Mvogo, Sutter, Vilotic, Von Berger, Benito, Gajić, Sanogo, Kubo, Nuzzolo, Sulejmani, Hoarau.
HOME WIN (1.40, 10Bet)
BASEL - LECH POZNAN
Basel, after the 1-3 win in the first leg, can be almost sure of the qualification.
It is a good team and surely stronger than Lech Poznan which is also living an awful period of shape (3 losses in the last 5 matches).
Basel is a very offensive team and tonight we expect another convincing performance.
BASEL: Vaclik, Lang, Hoegh, Suchy, Safari, Kuzmanovic, Delgado, Bjarnason, Zuffi, Gashi, Embolo.
LECH POZNAN: Buric, Douglas, Kaminski, Kadar, Ceesay, Linetty, Tralka, Pawlowski, Hamalainen, Jevtic, Thomalla.
HOME WIN (1.60, 888Sport)
OVER 1.5 (1.25, 888Sport)
MALMO - SALZBURG
Salzburg won 2-0 in the first leg and the fact that Malmo didn't score is a huge advantage for austrian team.
Salzburg showed to be more skilled and much more organized than Malmo in the first leg.
Austrian team usually plays very offensive and finds goals with ease. Malmo has to play offensive in order to try recovering the disadvantage.
We expect a pleasant match where goals should not be missing.
MALMO: Wiland, Yotun, Carvalho, Arnason, Tinnerholm, Sana, Adu, Lewicki, Rodic, Djurdjic, Rosenberg.
RED BULL SALZBURG: Stankovic, Schmitz, Doin, Hinteregger, Ulmer, Leitgeb, Berisha, Keita, Atanga, Djurcin, Oberlin.
PARTIZAN - STEAUA BUCURESTI
Steaua has become much more weaker than the previous season since has sold a lot of players such as Szukala, Sanmartean, Popa, Tanase and Keseru.
Considering the low level of the romanian league, Steaua is still unbeaten after the first 4 matches.
Steaua has won all the 3 matches played away. Probably this is due to the characteristics of this team which is very good in counterattacking.
The problem for romanian team is that the 1-1 in the first leg allows Partizan to stay on the defensive.
Steaua can't count on Fernando Varela and Stanciu who are both injured.
We expect UNDER 2.5 here.
PARTIZAN BEOGRAD: Z. Zivkovic, Vulicevic, Balazic, Fabricio, Petrovic, Brasanac, Jevtovic, Babovic, Oumarou, Spanjic, A. Zivkovic.
STEAUA BUCURESTI: Cojocaru, Alcenat, Papp, Râpă, Tosca, Breeveld, Muniru, Popa, Hamroun, Chipciu, Tadé.
QARABAG - CELTIC
Celtic made a lot of ball possession and attacked continously in the first leg but hasn't given a lot of troubles to Qarabag and indeed the goal only came thanks to a header of Boyata in a dead
This is a tough match for scottish team which usually doesn't show good performances when playing abroad (27 losses in the last 38 Champions League matches) and in the previous round they were able to concede a goal to Stjarnan also (which is not Real Madrid).
Considering also the bad condition of the pitch and the high temperatures expected (38°) we choose QARABAG DOUBLE CHANCE.
QARABAG: Sehic, Gurbanov, Sadygov, Guseynov, Agolli, Quintana, Garayev, Richard, El Jadeyaoui, Tagiev, Reynaldo.
CELTIC: Gordon, Lustig, van Dijk, Boyata, Izaguirre, Biton, Brown, Steven, Johansen, Armstrong, Griffith.
QARABAG DOUBLE CHANCE (1.50, PaddyPower)
SHAKHTAR - FENERBAHCE
The match clou of this 3rd round.
Although the skills in the pitch the first leg ended 0-0.
Shakhtar started really good the season, having won the ukrainian Super Cup and in our opinion has a better physical condition than Fenerbahce.
Shakhtar has to win this match because a goal scored by turkish team could be decisive since a draw with goals would give the qualification to Fenerbahce.
In any case a goal would force one of the two teams to attack, especially if Fenerbahce finds a goal because in that case Shakhtar would need 2 goals to reach the final round.
Hard to predict the winner, in our opinion is better to bet on goals.
SHAKHTAR DONETSK: Pyatov, Srna, Ordets, Rakitskiy, Shevchuk, Fred, Stepanenko, Marlos, Teixeira, Tyson, Gladkiy.
FENERBAHCE: Volkan, Hasan Ali Kaldirim, Kjaer, Bruno Alves, Souza, Nani, M.Topal, Caner Erkin, Diego, Fernandão, Van Persie.
OVER 2.5 (2.05, Betfair)
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (2.05, Betfair)
OVER 1.5 2nd HALF (2.13, Betfair)
