- Portugal still haven't won a match inside 90 minutes at Euro 2016 after requiring penalties to beat Poland in the quarter-finals and also the previous matches saw Portugal always drawing. Cristiano Ronaldo, although the 2 goals scored vs Hungary, has been poor in this competition and missed several clear-cut chances. Probably he will be extremely motivated to win this match and get one over on his Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale.
- Wales were amazing in their 3-1 win over Belgium in the last round but now both Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies are banned and will miss the semifinal. The loss of Ramsey in particular is a very important absence to Chris Coleman's side (Ramsey served 2 winning assists vs Belgium).
- However, considering that Portugal haven't actually been particularly good in this tournament, while Wales has always put in the pitch a great determination, we have a preference for the Welsh side. Portugal don't deserve the access to the Final. In our opinion is unconceivable to reach the semifinals only drawing especially when other good teams such as Italy or Poland that have been kicked out with the lottery of the penalties after great performances.
- This will be the first meeting between the teams since 2000, when Portugal won 3-0. Portugal have scored at least two goals in each of their three previous meetings, but it will be a much closer affair this time around.
